Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann who has been heaviy linked with Barcelona according to many reports insists Barcelona are not in talks to sign him but also admitted that he does want a decision on his future to be made before the World Cup.
The French striker was heavily linked with Manchester United in 2017, but in the end it was only rumors and nothing else. Now before the end of the season, some reports claim that Griezmann is all set to move to Barcelona in the summer transfer window.
But the 27-year old forward didn’t took time this time to dismiss the rumors and Atletico Madrid are in talks with him for a contract renewal.
“I don’t know where you get this information, but it is false. I want to be free and think only about the French team.”
“I would like my future to be settled before the World Cup, otherwise, afterwards, we will have questions to the right and the left. I will continue as I am now, giving everything to the club,” he said.
Griezmann when asked about his fitness ahead of the World Cup:
“Mentally, I’m better, and since January we can say that I have broken down the barriers. I had a difficult start to the season for several reasons. I expressed things wrongly and made mistakes.”
In the Madrid derby on Sunday, Griezmann equalized for Atletico Madrid after Cristiano Ronaldo scored a goal to secure a draw in the Santiago Bernabeu.
