Dinesh Mongia is mulling legal action against Lou Vincent.

Former Indian middle order batsman Dinesh Mongia refute the fixing allegation charges against him made by former New Zealand opener Luo Vincent.

He said, “There are baseless. I don’t why he has taken my name. I have clean chit from ICL”. He is mulling legal action against Vincent.

On Monday, Vincent admitted he was involved in match-fixing under direct orders from Chris Cairns. Presenting evidence at Southwark Crown Court in London where Cairns is on trial for perjury, Vincent said: “I was under direct orders from Chris Cairns to get involved in fixing in India.”

Vincent, 36, said he was trapped in corruption when he was dropped from the New Zealand team in 2007, and subsequently he suffered a meltdown.“It was my heart and my life, [being dropped] hurt my heart,” he added. He said he was “excited” to sign a $US350,000 contract with the Chandigarh Lions in the ICL, where Cairns was the captain. At that stage, he says he wasn’t interested in corruption or fixing matches.

While speaking at the ongoing Chris perjury trial, Vincent on Monday told a London courtroom that Mongia was one of the key members of a “Gang of four” that fixed matches during the now defunct Indian Cricket League.

Mongia  clarified that he had no issues against the two Kiwi cricketers and was surprised why they brought his name whenever there was something to do with the two of them.

Mongia also said that since his name has been brought up for the second time, he has spoken to his lawyers and is mulling a legal action.

Vincent also took the name of New Zealand all-rounder Daryl Tuffey during the trial.

He said that he had been suffering from mental health problems and depression at the time and “felt good to be part of a gang”.

The 38-year-old Mongia had played 57 ODIs and 1 T20 International for India in his six-year international career with most notable achievement being a member of the 2003 ICC Cricket World Cup team.

Mongia was in fact suspended by ICL during their 2008 edition due to disciplinary reasons which were not disclosed.
