Vinay Kumar’s horrendous start to the Indian Premier League got worse on Tuesday. The veteran Karnataka seamer started the season by conceding 30 runs off just 2 overs against Royal Challengers Bangalore. 16 off those runs had come in the last over of the innings. But luckily, Kolkata Knight Riders managed to win comfortably.
However, the franchise paid the price of showing faith in the bowler once again during the game against Chennai Super Kings. Despite his poor performance in the season-opener, Vinay Kumar made it to the playing eleven. And this time around, he had the cushion to make amends for his poor last game.

With a mammoth 203 runs on the board, an experienced Vinay Kumar should have led the attack with aplomb. But at the end of the game, he once again turned out to be the villain. He conceded 35 runs off just 1.5 overs as Super Kings registered a thrilling win.
The right-arm pacer started the proceedings with the ball for the Knight Riders. In the very first over, Shane Watson hit him for 16 runs including a six and a couple of fours. And he was not handed the ball till the last over when Dinesh Karthik perhaps ran out of option.
Well, Vinay Kumar once again failed to justify the faith shown in him. With 17 runs needed, he started the over with a no-ball that was hit for a six by Dwayne Bravo. The equation was finally down to 4 off 2 before Ravindra Jadeja hit a six to seal the game.

Not surprisingly, Vinay Kumar trended on Twitter for all the wrong reasons. The fans did not waste much time in trolling the former Indian pacer. Here are some of the reactions:
You have to say with all his experience Vinay Kumar was poor. Both games last over poor @KKRiders . Kamlesh Nagarkoti please next game. Super match yet again.

He's bowling just the first and last overs of the innings.
Does he really need to be in the team for doing this?
