We were very close to witnessing the first super-over of the 2018 IPL. But Billy Stanlake found the ropes when it was needed the most.
Rohit Sharma’s Mumbai Indians are known to be slow starters, and that is how it turned out to be. The men in blue have now lost two out of two in this edition of the league.

The Sunrisers snatched a win from the jaws of defeat by just one wicket. Rohit said it is still early days in the tournament. He also added it is tough to accept a close game like this, especially when one ends up on a losing note.
The skipper felt the total wasn’t good to challenge the orange brigade.
Batting first, Mumbai made 147/8 in their allotted 20 overs. Rohit got out cheaply but his opening partner Evin Lewis scored a scintillating 17-ball 29 runs.
With close to 50 on the board, the visitors lost Lewis. Surya Kumar Yadav made a solid contribution of 28 runs, and all-rounder Kieron Pollard chipped in with a 23-ball 28.
“Still early days but a great game of cricket. Being on the receiving end at the second time is tough to digest. The total wasn’t good enough. We should have batted with more responsibility. Yeah excited with the talent. We have a long, long way to go.” Rohit said, post the nail-biting contest.

Markande spun his web tight
One of the positives, the skipper and his team will take away from this game is the emerging potential of Mayank Markande.
The 20-year old scalped four wickets in his four overs, conceding 23 runs. Jasprit Bumraha and Mustafizur Rahman’s late strikes got the match very close.
For the Orange army, it is two wins out of as many games and their captain Kane Williamson will be proud of the boys for crossing the line on both occasions.
