Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) came back to winning ways beating Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in a last-over thriller at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Meanwhile, batting first the visiting side got off to a flier courtesy KL Rahul (47). He continued his good form as he took the attack to the opposition. However, Umesh Yadav drew the first blood as he removed Mayank Agarwal in the fourth over.

He continued his brilliance as Punjab was reeling at 36 for 3 at end of fourth. However, a late cameo from the skipper Ravichandran Ashwin (33) helped Punjab post 155.
However, in reply, Quinton de Kock (45) provided a good start despite losing Brendon McCullum at the other end.

However, it was AB de Villiers half-century that kept the home team in the hunt.
With five runs needed off the last over, Washington Sundar struck two boundaries to take the host home.

McCullum had an off day as he failed to open his account.
However, he will be determined to make up for this in the next game.
Quinton de Kock (wk): (7.5/10)

De Kock provided a perfect start to the Royal Challengers. His 34 balls 45 set the tone for RCB to play responsibly in the middle-overs.

However, the South African wicket-keeper batsman will look to continue doing so.
Virat Kohli (c): (5.5/10)

The skipper got a perfect start but was undone by a sheer brilliance from Mujeeb Ur Rahman.
Kohli notched up 21 runs off 16 deliveries before getting out.
AB de Villiers: (8/10)

De Villiers played a responsible knock as he guided his team towards their first victory. He played a knock of 57 runs off 40 balls which proved to be crucial for the team.

However, it was his responsibility to finish the game and that star batsman will surely take a note of that.
Sarfaraz Khan: (2/10)

The young batsman had a poor game as he got out without troubling the scorers.
The aggressive Sarfaraz needs to get some time in the middle and score some runs.
Mandeep Singh: (5/10)

Mandeep Singh will curse himself for not finishing the game after getting a good start. He scored 22 runs off 19 balls before getting run out.
However, he has got a good start to this year’s IPL and will be eager to carry the form.
Chris Woakes: (4/10)

The fast bowler from England went for 36 runs in his four overs. However, he claimed two wickets to put a brake on the Kings XI’s free run flow.
Meanwhile, RCB will want an economical Woakes back in the next game.
Washington Sundar: (7/10)

The all-rounder had a good game for RCB as he scored the winning runs. However, prior to that, he bagged two important wickets.
At first, he removed the dangerous looking Lokesh Rahul followed by the swashbuckling Marcus Stoinis.
Sundar will be crucial to Bangalore’s success going into the tournament.
Kulwant Khejroliya: (5/10)

The left-arm did a good job with the ball today he returned with two wickets. Khejroliya castled Karun Nair at an important juncture of the game which broke the momentum for Punjab.
He will look to continue his wicket-taking spree in the upcoming games.
Umesh Yadav: (7.5/10)

Umesh was absolutely brilliant with the ball during today’s game. He halted Punjab’s run flow by picking three wickets in a single over.
The fast bowler returned with 3 for 24 in his four overs.
Yuzvendra Chahal: (4/10)

Chahal had a rare off day in business as he went for 38 runs in his four overs. Although, he removed Ashwin but will want to improve his performance.
Moreover, Chahal is crucial for RCB in the middle overs.
