Sunrisers Hyderabad pacer Siddarth Kaul is a prime example of it. With 119 runs to defend, the road looked daunting.
Kaul, who has been on song since the very initial phase of the tournament, stepped up his game when it mattered the most.
In the absence of a senior pro-Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Kaul bagged three vital wickets to help side complete a 31-run victory.
Kaul credited his domestic heroics
Post the nerve-wrecking contest, Kaul said it is a great feeling to contribute in such crisis-situation. The pacer has always been vocal about his domestic performance. He also mentioned the names of Ashish Nehra and Bhuvneshwar, who has been a guiding force for him.
“Feeling great to do this when your teams need it, in the crisis team. My domestic team went really well, and I got into the India A team and the India team as well, and it feels good when you get to that level. Bhuvi is there before that Ashish Nehra was there and I learn a lot from them because they were champs in the IPL and international cricket as well. It really helped me.” he said.
Williamson and co. happy with the outcome
The Sunrisers’ skipper Kane Williamson said it was a tough surface. The visitors were bundled out for mere 118. It was only the third time in the history of IPL where both the sides lost all their wickets – a tally of 20 to be exact.
Coach Tom Moody had said their side were 30 odd runs short before Mumbai Indians‘ innings and to see his side win by a handsome margin will give him a lot of pleasure.
