The 10th match day of the Premier League produced some outstanding performances from players from all the clubs in the League. The fans were treated to some competitive football and there were some close games to enjoy. Here is the team of the week for Match Day 10 which includes players from all the clubs who were extra-ordinary in their positions.
GK:
Costel Pantilimon (Sunderland)
Sunderland beat their rivals Newcastle United in the Tyne-Wear Derby this week. The score line was comfortable at 3-0 but the game was far from it for the Black Cats. Pantilimon was simply irresistible on the day pulling out eight high quality saves in total to give his team a victory.
Defense:
Kyle Walker (Tottenham Hotspur)
The Spurs started the game against Bournemouth by conceding a goal very early and Kyle Walker was at fault as he allowed a cross to come in from his flank. But after that, he was exceptional as he rarely allowed the home team on the front foot and also provided a lot of support in attack.
Nicolas Otamendi (Manchester City)
Otamendi was City’s best player on the pitch in the Manchester Derby. He was often stretched wide on the flanks by Rooney and Martial but the summer signing for the Citizens stuck to his task and was rewarded with a clean sheet.
Laurent Koscielny (Arsenal)
Koscielny countinues to impress one and all with his solid display’s at the back. Against Everton, Koscielny rarely looked troubled and never gave the Everton forwards a sniff at his goal.
Aaron Cresswell (West Ham United)
Cresswell was out-standing in the game against Chelsea as he hurried the Chelsea attackers giving them no time on the ball. He rarely gave them space on the flank and put in a solid all-round performance to give his team a victory.
Mid-field:
Morgan Schneiderlin (Manchester United)
United and van Gaal will be over-joyed by the mid-fielders performance as he often sat in the gap between the two centre halves and making sure that the City players do not make in-roads. He was superb in stopping play and his distribution was also top notch.
Santi Cazorla (Arsenal)
Cazorla has been consistent over the past few games and continued his form in the game against Everton. His mobility and energy to win the ball back gave Arsenal an advantage in the mid-field. The Spaniard has been one of the most important player for Arsenal this season.
Mesut Ozil (Arsenal)
Arsenal squeezed out a 2-1 victory against Everton this weekend and their best player on the day was Mesut Ozil. He tore the Everton defense into pieces and was in complete control of the mid-field area when he was on the ball. He has the highest assists in Europe with 7.
Dimitri Payet (West Ham United)
Arguably the signing of the summer at least in the country, Dimitri Payet once against showed his class in a game which West Ham won against a 10-men Chelsea side. Payet was exceptional in holding the ball up and also played some defense breaking balls to his forwards. An assured performance.
Attack:
Odion Ighalo (Watford)
Watford breezed past a Stoke side that lacked any intent on the day. Ighalo was the star player for Watford as he was almost un-playable on the day. He provided the assists for both the goals for his side and gave his team all three points with a match winning performance.
Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur)
Harry Kane had the game of the season so far against Bournemouth this week. He was mobile all throughout the game as he often made runs that gave his team mates some space. He was clinical in his finishing a picked up his first hat-trick of the season. He is easily the player of the week.
