The FIFA World Cup 2018 will kick-off on 14 June in Russia with 32 teams battling out for the ultimate glory.
Some teams despite being at the top of the FIFA rankings failed to qualify. Its not just about only the teams, but also for some of the players who were about to play their last World Cup.
The dreams shattered for the teams and the players as well.
Here we take a look at the top five teams who will badly be missed during FIFA World Cup 2018.
5. USA

For the first time in more than three decades, USA will not compete in the FIFA World Cup. The stunning and surreal nature of America’s absence is now a reality for U.S. soccer fans.
In the final qualifying round, USA lost 2-1 against Trinidad and Tobago in a stunning defeat. That loss was just one of a series of events that led to the side’s failure to qualify for the FIFA World Cup 2018.
The loss was just part of the concoction that led to the USA’s absence. Honduras and Panama stunned Mexico and Costa Rica, respectively, in the final round last October.
Those wins and losses placed Mexico, Costa Rica and Panama in the World Cup, and the USA in fifth place — even out of reach of a fourth-place finish where the team could have fought for a World Cup spot in the inter-confederation play-offs.
