Just 6 months after lifting the Premier League trophy, Chelsea football club finds themselves in a very embarrassing situation. They are placed 15th in the table having taken just 11 points from 11 games. They look a shadow of their selves from last season. They have not been able to get results even at home and as a result Mourinho’s job is under scrutiny.

In this article, we will try and take a look at what is causing Chelsea’s rapid rolling down the hill in the Premier League.

Jose Mourinho is one of the most respected and successful managers in the history of the game. He is a mastermind and is so tactical that he sets his teams up depending on the game of the opponents. His style of play requires him to have the confidence of the players. However, this season, Mourinho has somewhat lost the kind of communications he has with his players.

Experts have already claimed that the players are no longer ready to play for him and that it is hard for the manager to get the best out of the team when the team is not ready to play for him. All of this started with the Eva Carneiro saga where Mourinho allegedly made some harsh comments on the team’s physio who was later relieved of her duties.

Since then, Mourinho did not really have many positive things to talk about even in team meetings and press conferences. He has not been greatly in charge of the proceeding at the club and has slowly lost the trust of the members and fans involved with the club. The latest defeat against Liverpool will put even more pressure on the Chelsea boss going into the Champions League fixtures.

But it would be harsh to pin all the blame on the manager. In the previous season with Diego Costa, Eden Hazard and Cesc Fabregas in full flow, the team scored freely against all the opponents and also had one of the best defensive lines in the form of John Terry and Gary Cahill. But this season, starting with John Terry, everything has gone wrong.

The Club captain has not looked in great shape and has not been able to keep up with the pace of the Premier League this season. He has been often found wanting at the back and has left Chelsea open at the back. This has led to them conceding too many goals in this early stage of the Premier League.

But again, the amount of pressure on the Chelsea defenders has increased a lot from last season as they have not been able to keep the ball up-front for a long enough time. Costa who had a dream debut season in the Premier League scoring 20 goals has been nowhere near as good. He has been partnered by an out of form Radamel Falcao and this meant that the goals dried up.

To add to this, Eden Hazard, the PFA Player of the Year last season has somehow lost all his confidence. Mourinho was utterly disappointed with the work rate that his team has shown in the recent games and has dropped some start players to strengthen his squad. But this has not worked for him and he has bought himself into an unfamiliar situation.

Talks about sacking him may be premature, but the fact that he has no experience in dealing such situations will make it that much hard for the club to bounce back. So it looks like parting ways with the Portuguese and having someone else at the Heir of the club is the best thing to do for the progress of the club. Follow our website for more such articles.
