Mohali was undoubtedly a bowler’s paradise for the first day’s play between hosts India and South Africa. After winning an all-important toss, Indian skipper and birthday boy Virat Kohli had no hesitation in batting first. Things went sour for the hosts, as the Indian top order collapsed in two bursts. M. Vijay though looked fluent for his knock of 75. Towards the end of the Indian innings, a handy contribution of 38 from comeback man Ravindra Jadeja gave India an edge. After being all out for 201, the hosts struck back as Ashwin and Jadeja made a strong statement.
