Real Madrid are reportedly claiming their gentleman’s agreement with Cristiano Ronaldo has expired. The club will want more than 100M€ from the Seria A club, Juventus.
Florentino Perez is set to talk with the Juventus President.
The Bianconeri appear to have reached a deal with the Portuguese superstar, whose agent informed them he could leave for €100m. Now all that remains is to make the official offer to Los Merengues. But according to some reports, President Florentino Perez is seeking to raise the price.
According to this morning’s Gazzetta Dello Sport, Madrid believes the discounted price for CR7 only applied up to June 15. However, Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes disagrees. As this was a gentleman’s agreement and not an official release clause, there’s no legal way of forcing Los Merengues to respect it.
Perez is now asking for €120-130m. But Gazzetta believes this is merely posturing, as Perez will not want to keep an unhappy Ronaldo. If the deal does go ahead, Gonzalo Higuain and Daniele Rugani might head to Chelsea to cover the €100m transfer fee.

Ronaldo’s agent said,
“If Cristiano Ronaldo does leave Real Madrid, he will be eternally grateful to the club. Also the president, the whole team, the medical staff, the supporters and all the Madridistas around the world. It will only be for a new stage and a new challenge in his brilliant career.”
Ronaldo joined Madrid in 2009 after six years with Manchester United. He scored 450 goals in 438 games for the Spanish giants. With speculation heating up that a move to Italy is imminent, Ronaldo’s agent, Mendes has dropped the biggest hint yet his client could make a dramatic switch.
