Chiragh Kumar of India claimed a popular victory at the Panasonic Open India after shooting a two-under-par 70 to clinch his first Asian Tour Title on 8th November 2015. He upstaged the elite cast of Thaworn Wiratchant of Thailand and Siddikur Rahman of Bangladesh with a 13 under 275 Total at his home course in Delhi and registered a three-stroke victory to lift his first Asian Tour title by three shots on Sunday. Chiragh Kumar jumped up 17 places to reach 12th position in the Asian Tour Order of Merit list due to this breakthrough victory on Sunday. It is a wonderful dream come true for Chiragh Kumar.

India’s Anirban Lahiri is at the top of the Asian Tour Order of Merit list. Dodt A is and Scott Hend of Australia is ranked second and third respectively. SSP Chowrasia is fourth in the list. No Indian finds a place in top 10 World Golf ranking as of November 2015. Anirban Lahiri the lone Indian is ranked at no 41 among the first 50 in Global Golf ranking which is no mean achievement. India is doing pretty well in Asian Tour Merit list as tow of the top 10 positions belong to Indian and Chiragh Kumar has moved up to 12th rank. That should encourage young Indians opting for Golf.
