When it comes to making changes in the record charts, nobody knows it better than Virat Kohli, who has been prolific with the willow. Apart from chasing, this is turning out to be a new typical feature of batting sensation Kohli.

In the third and final One-day International which is being played at Leeds in Headingley, he added another unique record to his illustrious career.

The 29-year-old Delhi-based batsman Kholi tops the batting chart now as a skipper. He is now fastest to achieve 3000 runs as a team leader.

The batting giant Kohli completed this mark in just 49 innings. He is followed by South African cricketer AB de Villiers (60 innings).

Moreover, Mahendra Singh Dhoni (70 innings), Sourav Ganguly (74 innings), Graeme Smith and Misbah-ul-Haq (83 innings) and Sanath Jayasuriya and Ricky Ponting (84 innings) also achieved the feat in the past.

A feat in T20Is:

It is worthy to mention that he got a similar kind of unique feat in Twenty20 Internationals.

In the three-match T20 series, he became become the first Indian and the fastest player (56 innings) to reach the 2000-run mark in T20Is. He is the third batsman after Martin Guptill and Brendon McCullum. Guptill tops this list with 2,271 runs under his belt, in just 73 innings.

Virat Kohli against England in ODIs:

In the first match against England in three-match ODI series, he scored 75. Adil Rashid managed to pick the prized scalp of Kohli when Jos Buttler did the rest of the work by removing the bails.

Skipper Kohli provided a good platform as India achieved the victory by eight wickets.

So, in the second match of the series, another English spinner, Moeen Ali outclassed Kohli while trapping him right in front of the wickets. He scored 45 in that particular match.

In the third and the final ODI which is being played at Leeds, Headingley, Kohli scored 71 off 72 balls.

Leg-spinner Rashid once again got his wicket as he castled Virat Kohli with a peach of a delivery.
