Zimbabwe vs Pakistan Statistical Highlights – Pakistan batsmen continued to make merry in Zimbabwe as the Men in Green slammed a record 399 for one in the fourth One-day International of the five-match series. Right from the toss till Pakistan’s innings culminated, nothing went right for the beleaguered hosts.
With the series already in pocket, Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed did not hesitate in batting first. And the decision was justified entirely by openers Fakhar Zaman and Imam-ul-Haq. The duo added 304 runs for the first wicket to lay the foundation for the massive total.
Left-arm orthodox spinner Wellington Masakadza ended the stand when he dismissed Imam-Ul-Haq for 113. Zaman, however, made the most of the start and went on to slam his maiden ODI double ton. Fakhar Zaman remained unbeaten on 210 off just 156 balls.
The marathon of the innings was laced with 24 fours and five sixes. It was not the typical of starts for Zaman as he took his time early on.
Zaman, the southpaw reached his fifty in 51 balls. But as the game progressed, he did not take long to shift the gears. He reached his hundred off just 92 balls, and there was no looking back from thereon. He went on to complete his double century off just 146 balls.
Towards the end, Asif Ali smashed a 22-ball 50 to put the icing on the cake.
Here are the statistical highlights from the innings:
1. The 304-run stand between Zaman and Imam is the highest-ever partnership for the first wicket in ODIs.
Interestingly, the record was previously held by Sri Lanka’s Sanath Jayasuriya and Upul Tharanga. They had shared a 286-run stand against England in 2006.
2. Zaman and Imam broke Aamer Sohail and Inzamam-ul-Haq’s record of highest partnership for Pakistan in ODIs for any wicket. The former players had shared a 263-run stand against New Zealand way back in 1994.
3. Zaman hit 29 boundaries during his innings – most by a Pakistan player. He broke Saeed Anwar’s record of 27 boundaries.
4. The series witnessed the first instance of Pakistani openers scoring four centuries in a bilateral ODI series. Zaman and Imam have scored two centuries each so far.

5. Zaman broke the record of the highest individual score by a Pakistani batsman in ODIs by crossing Saeed Anwar’s score of 194. In the process, he also became the first Pakistani batsman to score a double-century in ODIs.
6. Zaman broke Rohit Sharma’s record of taking least number of innings from debut to score an ODI double century. While Rohit took 103 innings to score his maiden double hundred, Zaman took just 17 innings to reach the milestone.
4. Zaman’s score of 210* is the sixth highest in ODI history, behind Rohit Sharma (264), Martin Guptill (237*), Virender Sehwag (219), Sachin Tendulkar (200*) and Chris Gayle (215).
6. Zaman has 980 runs in 17 innings. He needs 20 more in three innings to become the fastest to 1,000 runs in ODI history.
8. 399 for 1 is now the highest total in ODIs for Pakistan. Their previous best was 385 for seven they had scored against Bangladesh in 2010.

9. 399 for 1 is the highest ODI total by any team for the loss of only one wicket. India previously held the record for scoring 362 for one against Australia in 2013.
