New Liverpool signing Fabinho wants his former Monaco team-mate Kylian Mbappe at Liverpool. The Brazilian also revealed that he will try to convince the French forward.
Fabinho is one of the new signing of Liverpool this season.
Brazilian midfielder Fabinho swapped the Ligue 1 side for Liverpool in a deal worth €45 million (£39m/$52m). Jurgen Klopp has also signed Xherdan Shaqiri and Alisson Becker in the summer window. The Merseysiders look to close the gap on Premier League champions Manchester City in the 2018-19 campaign.
And now Fabinho wants Mbappe, who was one of the stand-out performers at the World Cup. He scored four goals to help propel Didier Deschamps’ to the title.
The Brazilian midfielder said:
“He [Mbappe] has already said this season he will remain at PSG, but I will try to slowly to convince him to come over. ”
Mbappe’s PSG team-mate Neymar, meanwhile, has revealed that he is staying at PSG despite strong links with Real Madrid. The Frenchman has also been suggested as a possible target for the Champions League winners. But the teenager also seems to stay focused with PSG.
Despite Mbappe leaving Monaco at the start of the 2017-18 season, Fabinho has revealed that the duo still stay in touch.
“Kylian Mbappe sent me a text message congratulating me for coming to Liverpool. Unfortunately I have not had a chance to congratulate him for what he did during this World Cup. What France did was fantastic. What Mbappe did in two years of professional football is amazing. He is a phenomenon and needs to be congratulated, and as soon as I have the chance I will.”
If somehow Fabinho manages to convince Mbappe, the Brazilian midfielder will turn into a hero for the Liverpool fans even before stepping into the pitch.
