The BCCI and ICC were on the same page and no differences existed between the two stalwart cricket bodies over the hosting of the ICC World T20 Championships, with both the bodies envisaging a successful tournament, said BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur .
He further elaborated that both the bodies have to mutually contribute and work with assiduity in a unanimous manner to ensure the successful hosting of the World T20 Championships in India with BCCI being the host body and absolutely rubbished any speculations of animosity between the two bodies and their officials.
He also exclaimed that the tournament would be conducted in 8 centres as decided in the Barbados ICC meeting.
BCCI president Shashank Manohar stated that the draws would take their own time and were not imminent as of now.Manohar also cited time in decisionsover the issue of players’ unrest that led to the cancellation of cricket matches against the West Indies.
Manohar also reassured Sourav Ganguly of no hindrances in any of his endeavours as far as the interests of the board were protected and clearly stated that he would not be doing commentary.
When asked about deliberating conflicts of interest over the Anil Kumble issue, both of them embarked upon silence and eventually replied in the affirmative but were elusive to any comments regarding the issue.
