Team India opening batsman Gautam Gambhir met Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday to discuss financial discrepancies in Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA).On the complaints filed by Bishen Singh Bedi and a few other eminent cricketers, the Delhi government has ordered a probe on the issue of entertainment tax worth 24 Crore to be levied by the state from DDCA.

The two member committee constituted was asked to submit a scrutiny report within two days. The matter of financial mismanagement was raised by former BJP MP Kirti Azaad, after which the Parliament handed it over to the Ministry of Home Affairs, which sent the issue to sports ministry that has now trickled down to Delhi government for further reconnoitring.

In the past, DDCA vice-president Chetan Chauhan said they would meet CM Kejriwal and appeal to the Delhi government regarding the 24 crore entertainment tax that is being levied from them. Failure to pay shall lead them to revoke their authority to conduct the fourth test at Feroz Shah Kotla, scheduled between December 2-6 to Pune. DDCA has claimed that they had religiously paid entertainment tax between 2008 and 2012 during which they were granted exemption.

Chauhan exclaimed that even the exemption years were added leading to the exorbitant amounts that the value has escalated to and sought a meeting with the government authorities, meeting deputy CM Manish Shisodiya who directed him to meet the CM and sort the issue out. He would be meeting the CM in the next two days.
