Michael Vaughan predicts the scoreline of the Test series between India and England.

England has announced their playing XI for the first Test match against India set to take place at Edgbaston, Birmingham. The leg-spinner Adil Rashid whose inclusion in the 13-man squad had created a chatter is also able to the make the cut into the final XI.

England opening combination will be Alastair Cook and Keaton Jennings. The southpaw pair will like to give a good platform to the hosts. Furthermore, Jennings had done well against India on 2016 tour.

England skipper Joe Root will take the one down position in the batting line-up. Root is going to be the ROOT of the batting order. The right-hander was in good form in the limited overs format which will help his confidence. The left-hander Dawid also makes it to the final XI of the home side. Jonny Bairstow will bat at number five place and will also take the wicketkeeping duties.

Ben Stokes at number six will play the all-rounder’s role for the English team. The combative Jos Buttler will bat at number seven place. Buttler has the ability to change the course of the game with his blistering batting. Furthermore, the combative batsman is in good form with the bat.

The left-arm seamer Sam Curran who impressed in the Test series against Pakistan is also included in the last XI. Adil Rashid who has made it to the headlines after his inclusion in the Test squad will also be seen in action. Stuart Broad and James Anderson will share the new ball for England. Both the veteran seamers are going to be imperative for the Test series.
