Bangladesh was straight away put on the backfoot after they lost their talismanic opener Tamim Iqbal on the very first ball.
Furthermore, they lost their second wicket in the same over when Ashley Nurse bowled Soumya Sarkar.

Thus, the visitors had their backs against the wall. Liton Das and skipper Shakib Al Hasan were able to steady the ship. However, the pair could not get going for long, as Liton Das was sent back by Keemo Paul.
In fact, the tourists lost two quick wickets, as captain Shakib Al Hasan was out on the next ball.
Mushifiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah then had to do the re-building work. The right-handed pair was able to put together an alliance of 47 runs with Mahmudullah scoring the maximum 35 runs in the innings.
Thus, the visitors were able to crawl to 143 in their allotted 20 overs. Kesrick Williams was the chief destroyer in the Bangladesh innings, as he scalped four wickets and gave away only 28 runs.

However, the target was shortened, as the rain played the spoilsport. The revised target was 91 runs, and the home side needed to chase it in 11 overs.
On the other hand, the hosts also didn’t get off to a great start, as they lost two early wickets for just ten runs on the board. However, Andre Russell raced to 35 off 21 balls with Marlon Samuel scoring 26 runs from 13 balls.
Thus, the all-rounder Andre Russell was made the Man of the Match for his blistering innings and taking one wicket.
