Blasters v Warriors Los Angeles T20: Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly scored 50, Blasters posted 219 for 5
The American phase of All-Star Cricket League has reached the last game of the three-match series. Sachin Blaster’s captain Sachin Tendulkar winning the toss elected to bat first. Opener Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar hammered the Warne Warriors’ bowlers. Virender Sehwag scored 27 off 15 balls before getting out to a Courtney Walsh delivery.
Blasters have posted 220 run target for Warne Warriors. Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly scored their half centuries that helped Blasters to post a big total on board. Jayawardene and Hopper also played superb innings.
Sachin Tendulkar was the man to watch today as the little master was in a prolific mood. He was hitting almost every delivery for four and sixes. Tendulkar. In total, he hit 6 sixes and two fours. Blasters have scored 81 runs 5 overs losing the wicket of Virender Sehwag, who was singing Pakistani Singer Atif Islam’s Bollywood number while smashing Allan Donald two back to back six.
After the departure of Sehwag, Mahela Jayawardene; coming at No. 3 started hitting boundaries and over boundaries. Blasters reached 100 runs mark in 7 overs. The run rate was 14.29. Tendulkar’s 27 balls 56 run innings was finally ended by wicketkeeper Kumar Sangakkara as the Sri Lankan legend stumped Sachin off Daniel Vettori. However, as Sahne Warne brought spinners in the action, Blasters’ innings slowed down. Vettori bagged the wicket of Sachin Tendulkar while Andrew Symonds got the wicket of Mahela Jayawardene, who scored 41 off 18 balls.
The departure of Jayawardene affected Blasters’ innings as Sourav Ganguly was playing a run a ball innings while Carl Hooper too was defensive. Blasters posted 175 runs in 17 overs. However, the duo changed their gear to make some quick runs. Ganguly completed his 50 in 36 balls before bowled by Daniel Vettori. Clar Hooper also smashed three big sixes to make the gap large between balls and runs. Hooper scored 33 off 22 balls.
Daniel Vettori was the most successful bowler for Warne Warriors as the former New Zealand skipper was the pick of the bowler grabbing 3 wickets conceding just 33 runs in four overs.
