Often called as the super-agent, Jorge Mendes and his business with Manchester United have been rather questionable in last few months. Mendes was responsible for Angel Di Maria and Radamel Falcao’s move to Old Trafford but the move failed drastically. Having made two error in judgement, Mendes is ready to redeem himself by helping The Red Devils sign James Rodriguez in the summer.
Rodriguez has not enjoyed his time under Rafa Benitez this season as he has had to battle to Isco for the starting XI spot. According to Fichajes, it has led the Colombian to assess his options elsewehere and Mendes sees Manchester United as the perfect place for James to fit in next season.
United are struggling to find a suitable number 10 for their team and James is one of the finest in that role. James was crowned with World Cup’s Golden Boot award and last season, he bagged 17 goals and 18 assists for Los Blancos.
Despite such high accolades, James is not guaranteed a first team spot under Benitez. Manchester United are willing to meet the asking price for the player and set to prepare a monumental £80million package to sign the Colombian from Real Madrid.
