Indian southpaw batsman Gautam Gambhir has lashed out at India for their poor show in the second Test match at Lord’s. India was bleak at the Mecca of Cricket when they skittled out for a paltry 107 and 130 in both innings.
There was no fight from the visitors which was sad to notice. In fact, India had done well in the first Test match at Edgbaston where they lost by 31 runs. However, it was a different story at Lord’s as they lost by an innings and 159 innings. Sadly, India lacked the stomach for a fight.

India was poor with the bat.
Gautam Gambhir rued the lack of intent from the Indian batsmen. The southpaw batsman admitted the fact that the conditions were tough but India should have shown a better fight.
“The way we lost the Test match was very disturbing. There was no fight shown by the Indian batters and yes the conditions were a little difficult in both the innings for them, but you don’t expect this team to bundle out in literally three days. They should have shown some fight in the second session to take the game into the final day and anything could have happened from there on,” Gambhir told Times of India.
Meanwhile, Gambhir believes that India can make a heroic comeback, however, it is going to be difficult. The Delhi based batsman said that India should try to draw the series and take one match at a time.

“India can make a comeback, but it is always difficult to make a comeback to win all the three games. They still have an opportunity to think about drawing the series. They can look to win 2 Tests out of the remaining 3 and then look at the way forward. They should take one Test match at a time,” Gautam Gambhir said.
There is no doubt that it is going to be a difficult road ahead for the Indian team to come back into the series. They are 0-2 down in the five-match series. Furthermore, their batsmen have looked out of touch.
Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah has gained full fitness and thus visitors has received a shot in the arm.
The third Test match will take place at Trent Bridge, Nottingham from 18 August.
