India dominated the first session of Day four when they scalped four wickets. Ishant Sharma took two early wickets as he sent back England openers back to the hunt. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami then got the wickets of Ollie Pope and Joe Root to put India in front.
However, Rishabh Pant was not able to hold on to a difficult chance when he let go of Jos Buttler.
Some resistance was the need of the hour for England to keep breathing in the Test match. Thus, the stomach for a fight was shown by Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes. Buttler and Stokes showed the determination and kept the Indian bowlers at bay. Buttler batted with great control as he scored his maiden century in the red ball version.

A fine performance from the Indian team.

The post-lunch session went wicketless. However, Virat Kohli and Co. knew they were one wicket away and it could lead to the opening of floodgates.
It was exactly what happened when Jasprit Bumrah wreaked havoc with the new ball. Bumrah was able to get one back to Jos Buttler. The right-hander decided not to play at it and the umpire ruled the decision in favour of the bowler. Buttler’s dismissal opened the floodgates of wickets as Bumrah breathed down the neck of England batsmen.

Jasprit Bumrah was on fire.
Injured Jonny Bairstow came out to bat. However, Bairstow stay was cut short by a fine first ball from Bumrah. Chris Woakes was once again attacked with a bouncer and England all-rounder had no clue on how to tackle it.
First innings hero with the ball for India, Hardik Pandya also came to the party as he produced the outside edge of Ben Stokes. Jasprit Bumrah continued his love affair of bowling no balls as Adil Rashid was given a second life and Bumrah had to take a booing from the crowd. Rashid was given another reprieve when the team India captain dropped a difficult catch. Thus, Adil Rashid and Stuart Broad brought up the 50-run partnership to frustrate India.
Bumrah gave it back to the crowd after scalping the wicket of Stuart Broad and celebrated by pointing a finger to his lips. Therefore, Bumrah was able to take a five-for to demolish England. However, India could not take the final wicket and will have to return back tomorrow to complete the formalities.
