Accoridng to PSG manager Thomas Tuchel, the newly joined goal-keeper Gianluigi Buffon is set to be dropped for the next two Ligue 1 games.
Buffon joined PSG in the summer transfer window.
The manager wants to do something different and he will be playing Alphonse Areola to give him a shot. He has played his match in May and Tuchel believes he must play.
Tuchel said in a press conference:
“Alphonse will play against Angers and Nimes. After that, we will see. We think it’s important for Alphonse to play. His last match was in May. He must play. Gigi had three exceptional, magnificent matches. I do not like leaving him out. I do not like making long-term decisions. It is important during this preparatory stage that Alphonse adapts to the team. I like complicated decisions. I must make a choice and I like that.”
Buffon joined the club as a free agent on a one-year deal. They started their Ligue 1 campaign with a 3-1 win over Caen last weekend.

Meanwhile, Tuchel also revealed that dinson Cavani could make his first Ligue 1 appearance of the season. He missed much of the Parsian’s pre-season due to an injury sustained on World Cup. However, the manager is yet to decide how he can fit Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Angel Di Maria into his team.
“We have four main attackers, Do not forget Angel Di Maria, who is top class. They are four key players, each with different qualities. I will not say if Edinson will start, or what Kylian’s position will be. Edinson has been working hard for two weeks and he is in top shape. We will decide together. Mbappe has to get used to playing several positions; there are several possibilities. He will play as an attacker.”
Mbappe has been recently given the iconoc number 7 jersey. The expectations will be big after his exceptional performance in the World Cup in Russia.
