Former Indian combative batsman Virender Sehwag recalled magician Dhyan Chand on National Sports Day. In fact, India celebrates the National Sports Day on the birth anniversary of Major Dhyan Chand.
It is well known that Major Dhyan Chand was a magician with a hockey stick in his hand. He had some breathtaking skills when he moved with the ball. In fact, there is a story that Chand’s hockey was put under the scanner to check if it has some magnet in it.

It is also a known fact that Adolf Hitler offered a higher position to him in the German Army and wanted him to play for Germany after coming to know about his skills sets. However, Dhyan Chand refused the offer as he chose to play for his country.
The legendary player also guided India to glory in the Olympics of 1928, 1932 and 1936 in which the country won the gold medal. Furthermore, Chand was famously known as the ‘Wizard’.
The magician scored more than 400 goals in his illustrious career, which is the most for any hockey player. Therefore, he was the greatest hockey player in the world.

Thus, the Government of India honored him with the third highest civilian award, Padma Bhushan in 1956.
Virender Sehwag took to Twitter to remember the legendary player on his 113th Birth Anniversary.
