Indian legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar sent his the Birthday wishes to his former teammate and friend Javagal Srinath. The former fast bowler is celebrating his 49th birth anniversary today.

Meanwhile, Sachin Tendulkar and Javagal Srinath shared a great bonhomie with each other. They played with each other for a long time in the national team. In fact, Javagal Srinath is regarded as the best fast bowlers produced by India. Currently, Javagal Srinath is working as a match referee for the International Cricket Council.

Srinath took a total of 551 wickets in both Test and One Day Internationals. He scalped 236 wickets in the red ball version whereas he took 315 wickets in the 50-overs format.

Thus, Srinath is the second highest wicket-getter for Indian behind Anil Kumble who took 337 wickets in the ODI version. He played 67 Test matches and 229 One-Dayers for the Indian team.

In fact, Javagal Srinath is the first Indian fast bowler to scale 300 ODI wickets. Furthermore, he was the fastest to 100 wickets in the ODI form.

Srinath took a total of 44 wickets in the four World Cups from 1992 to 2003. Therefore, he is the joint highest wicket-getter along with Zaheer Khan in the World Cup event. Furthermore, Srinath is the quickest Indian bowler to take 200, 250 and 300 wickets in the ODI format. In fact, Srinath was also handy with the bat as he could contribute while batting lower down the order.

Sachin Tendulkar took to Twitter to wish Javagal Srinath on his 49th birthday.  Sachin post read as, “Let’s celebrate your birthday, just like we celebrated each of your wickets. Happy Birthday, Sri. #HappyBirthdayJavagalSrinath”.
