The chief executive of Afghanistan Cricket Board, Shafiq Stanikzai (ACB) wants the Afghanistan Premier League 2018 to be in the top three T20 cricket leagues in the world.
However, ACB is ready to do everything possible to increase the popularity level. They want to do that not only to promote domestic players at the global stage but also to attract money that could help them to grow the cricketing culture in the future.
However, their national team is leaping forward to make their presence across the world. Thinking on their evolution in cricket and development, the ACB now wants to imply T20 league formula.
Moreover, the game, cricket is widespread in Afghanistan.
Afghanistan cricket is growing at a good pace and will likely continue to do so. After the success of its domestic T20 competition, the Shpageeza Cricket League that has gained a lot of popularity.

However, many star players have earned their popularity. Afganistan Cricket Board now wants to bring it to the global level and bring more money and exposure. Furthermore, APL has been scheduled between October 5 to October 21, 2018, at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
As ICC had recognised the APL T20, Afghanistan Cricket Board is receiving increasing financial support after getting the Test status early on. It has also gained interest from the sponsorship and TV.
However, the star players like Chris Gayle, Shahid Afridi, Brendon McCullum, Kumar Sangakkara set to join the ranks of participating teams.
Lutfullah Stanikzai believes Sharjah is a hub for cricket action. Moreover, it has become a second home for Afghans and will surely take APL to a great level.
