Despite conceding early, Chelsea thrashed Cardiff City 4-1, courtesy of Eden Hazard’s hattrick. However, the Belgium star has given a lot of credit to Olivier Giroud for the win and labelled him as the world’s best target man.

Hazard scored a hattrick while Giroud assisted two of them.

Giroud, who got criticised for not scoring enough goals, as the hat-trick hero has defended a forward. Giroud assisted Hazard twice and played a significant role to help Chelsea make a comeback. Hazard told BBC Sport,

“He’s a target man, maybe the best in the world. I think so.”

Hazard also insisted Giroud and Alvaro Morata are completely different players and the team is lucky to have two good strikers.

“He can hold up the ball… it’s a pleasure to play with him. When Alvaro is playing it’s completely different, he’s a different player to Olivier. They both have quality, so we are happy to have good strikers in the team.”

Hazard score twice before second half to erase Sol Bamba’s shock opener. And then later in the second half, he converted a penalty to complete his hattrick and put Chelsea on top.

The 27-year old now has five goals in five games, and he gave credit to his new manager and appreciated his style of play.

“We have a lot of freedom on the pitch and, at the moment, when we try and do something, it’s coming off. I’m always happy when I’m playing football. I just want to do my best for this club, which has done a lot for me. I’m always trying to do more – create more chances, score more goals, and today [I scored] a hat-trick so I will try to do this more.”

Chelsea will face West Ham in their next league game on 23rd August.
