Experienced all-rounder Deepak Hood will lead Baroda in the upcoming Vijay Hazare One-Day Tournament starting from September 19.
Meanwhile, Baroda showed tremendous form last year to win five out of six games to qualify for the quarterfinals. However, suffered a setback against Maharashtra to bow out of the tournament.
This time around, Baroda will be keen to put an improved show and will be eyeing the coveted trophy. They will start their campaign against Mumbai on September 19 in Alur. They find themselves in the Elite A group alongside Goa, Railways, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Mumbai, and Vidarbha.

In a bid to do so, they have named experienced Yusuf Pathan in their squad. Pathan boasts tons of experience in his back, and the side will bank on him heavily. Krunal Pandya, who recently made it to the T20I squad riding on his consistency will be the trump card for Baroda in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. His ability to contribute in all the departments has made him an eye-catching cricketer off late.
Moreover, the experience of Pinal Shah and Bhargav Bhatt need to come to the fore for Baroda in the tournament. This side has a perfect blend of youngsters and experienced cricketers which will be the main USP of this team.

Skipper Deepak Hooda will have to strike the chords and will have to lead from the front to achieve success in this edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy.
