Arsene Wenger’s team bounced back from their defeat in the weekend in the Premier League with an all round performance against Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday. Alexis Sanchez scored twice as Ozil was also on target on the night as Arsenal took all three points and have climbed to the 3rd place in their group. They still have a lot of work to do to qualify for the next round as they face Olympiakos on their next matchday.
Here are the player ratings for this game.
Arsenal:
P Cech (3): Was hardly tested but stood tall whenever called upon. A comfortable clean sheet for the shot-stopper.
N Monreal (3.5): Was full of energy all night long with his overlapping runs. Also played the Chilean in for his first goal.
H Bellerin (3): Was smart with his passing at times but did not do too much in the attack. Was sound defensively.
L Koscielny (3): Dinamo offered little threat going ahead as Koscielny stood tall and dealt with everything that came his way.
P Mertesacker (3): Showed his ariel ability winning almost every air ball, and was hardly put under pressure on a relatively comfortable night for the Gunners.
S Cazorla (3.5): Was vital in Arsenal’s transition from defense to attack. Played some superb passes up front to set Arsenal on the front foot.
M Ozil (4): A brilliant performance from the German as he looked dangerous every time he had the ball at his feet. Also picked up a goal for himself with a fearless header.
M Flamini (2.5): Did nothing fancy and stuck to his task playing simple passes when in possession.
O Giroud (3): His efforts on and off the ball gave Arsenal a lot of joy up front as he often dropped deep to help his team mates out to set Arsenal on the attacks.
J Campbell (3.5): Eager to impress Wenger, Campbell put in a very good shift as he linked up well from the flank and also provided the ball for Sanchez’ 2nd goal.
A Sanchez (4): At the heart of everything that was going well for Arsenal, Sanchez picked himself a brace and also an assist from this game in a man of the match performance.

Dinamo Zagreb:

Sigali (2): Was at fault for Sanchez’ first goal and was also lethargic in possession in general play.

Matel (2.5): Hardly had a chance to get forward as he had to keep the likes of Campbell in check.
Machado (2): Should have supported his players in defense but left them helpless and also did close to nothing in attack.
