Shahid Afridi became the highest wicket taker in T20 cricket by taking 3 wickets in yesterday’s T20 match against England in Dubai. Shahid Afridi has been playing T20 cricket for a long time. He has now 86 wickets in 86 matches. Shahid Afridi took the wickets of Alex Hales, Jason Roy and James Vince to achieve this record.

Shahid Afridi is the captain of Pakistan team in the shortest format of the game. He bowls with an economy of 6.59 which is great for a spinner who goes for a lot of runs in the modern day cricket. Following him, are his teammates Saeed Ajmal who has 85 wickets in 64 matches, followed by Umar Gul who has 83 wickets in 58 matches, followed by Sri Lankan captain Lasith Malinga who has 74 wickets in 61 matches and 5th top bowler who holds the position is Ajantha Mendis who has 66 wickets in 39 matches.

Shahid Afridi made his T20 debut in 2006. He also helped Pakistan to T20 World Cup in England in 2009. He is an explosive lower order batsman who can destroy any attack on its day. Shahid Afridi has a lot of experience of playing T20 cricket. He will be leading Pakistan in T20 World Cup in 2016 which is going to be held in India and hoping to great farewell by winning the T20 tournament. He has already retired from One-day Internationals after the 2015 World Cup which was held in Australia and New Zealand.

His bowling has helped Pakistan team win matches on his own. His best figure in T20 is 4/11 and has picked 4 wickets 3 times. Apart from bowling his explosive batting in a lower order made the Pakistan team more secure.
