Former team India opener and President of Delhi District Cricket Association(DDCA) has reassured of Feroz Shah Kotla being a competitive cricketing wicket, amid much farcical debate regarding the quality of pitch in Nagpur that completely dented the match towards India’s favour.Although he has stated that the pitch shall not encapsulate much assistance for the pace bowlers as it shall not be a green turf, he also added that the pitch shall begin turning on day two and shall have something for everybody.
Chauhan ,who is also the incharge of the acclaimed Delhi stadium, met curator Daljeet Singh where they discussed about the way forward and concluded that the pitch would not be a green top like the ones during the Delhi Ranji trophy matches, and refrained from divulging details regarding his rendezvous with Daljeet, and the points thought over.
He also rubbished the question regarding groundsmen refraining to water the main square after the second day with a short laughter.
However local curator Ankit Dutta was seen watering the strip on Sunday. With forecasts of foggy weather, the pitch would not be a rank turner like Jamtha, but could turn from day 2.
