Real Madrid have been dealing with injuries this whole season and Marcelo has joined that list recently. Coach Rafael Benitez is looking for a replacement and it seems that Liverpool defender Alberto Moreno has shown interest for joining Real Madrid.
Liverpool’s star agent Javier Moya said, “Alberto Moreno would be joyful if Real Madrid made an offer for the Liverpool defender.”
He plays for National team of Spain and had cemented his position as the Red’s first-choice left-back under new manager Jurgen Klopp over the last 2 months.
Moreno has made 13 appearances in the Premier League this season and has created a lot of impression in victories against Chelsea, Manchester City and Swansea.
“If a team like Real Madrid speak with us and Liverpool are satisfied with the operation, they could talk. Regarding January, however, I believe a potential move would be complicated,” says Moya.
Moreno moved to Liverpool for a £12m deal after leading his club Sevilla to Europa League glory.
He has scored 2 goals for the Reds in 61 appearances so far in all competitions.
If things work out well, then the transfer may take place in the summer itself.
The left-back will be utilized as a cover for Marcelo at Bernabeu, who has been injured.
Alberto Moreno believes that it is Klopp’s tactical training that has transformed into good form for the Reds on the field.
He has been aggressive on the field and has had ample play in the midfield too under Klopp and has accepted the fact that change of manager has brought in fresh hopes for the players.
During Rodger’s time, Moreno was used a substitute for Joe Gomez but now he is a crucial part of Klopp’s line-up and he has enjoyed playing.
Regarding the Real Madrid transfer news, Moreno told that he has not been contacted directly by anyone from Madrid. Benitez is looking for left-backs and is monitoring some top players in Europe for the post and Moreno has top priority since Liverpool are playing only Europa league this season.
