Ajinkya Rahane scored his fifth Test career hundred today morning at Feroz Shah Kotla. With this hundred he has become the first batsman to score a hundred in historic “Gandhi-Mandela” Test series. Rahane made his debut in 2013 at Feroz Shah Kotla which was not a nightmare debut as he scored 7 and 1.
In a four-match Test series where highest score was AB de Villiers’ 85 Rahane’s magnificent 127 is special. Rahane innings helped India to get rid of an early slump which has become a phenomenon in this series. Rahane’s gusty innings was cut-short by Imran Tahir as AB de Villiers caught Rahane for 127.
Twitter salutes Ajinkya Rahane:
In a short career, Rahane has shown he is a truly global player, viable in all conditions, the kind Ind need to become a great test side.
