South Africa has been playing unusual slow innings in order to draw the Delhi Test. In 72 overs, South Africa scored 72 runs losing the wickets of Dean Elgar and Temba Bevuma. They need to chase 481. But, they are afraid of India spinners. After losing the series 2-0, they want to finish the series at least with a draw before their first home Test match against England at Kingsmead, Durban.

Captain Hashim Amla has been playing an innings which had been visible in the 20th century. Amla ha failed throughout the series. In this match, he played 207 deliveries to score 23 runs while AB de Villiers, who is known as an explosive batsman, opted to hide his shots and scored 11 runs in 91 balls. De Villiers, who scored the fastest ODI hundred off 31 balls, took 33 balls to open his account. At one of their innings, Amla and De Villiers have built a 0 run partnership in 60 balls.
