In the cold Delhi weather, Indian pacer, Umesh Yadav hit AB de Villiers twice at Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi. First time in the finger and second time AB de Villiers left his bat in the air as his finger tore. But, with the help of magic spray De Villiers continues his fight.
De Villiers in his unusual display of batting played 203 balls and scored 26 till lunch. Hashim Amla today morning was bowled by Ravindra Jadeja while Faf du Plessis and AB de Villiers are blocking the Indian spinners to pass session to draw the match. After Hashim Amal’s departure Faf du Plessis took 53 balls to score his first runs.
Meanwhile, South Africa’s strategy to block the balls in order to draw the Test spoiled when their “blocker in chief” Faf du Plessis was bamboozled by Ravindra Jadeja. Du Plessis played 97 balls and scored 10 runs. His departure opened the floodgate of South Africa’s long tail. JP Duminy did not last long as he trapped lbw by Ravichandran Ashwin. Duminy failed to open his account.
Ashwin got his third while Jadeja took two wickets so far.
South Africa lost one wicket in the first session of the day and scored 22 runs in 35 overs.
Meanwhile, Umesh Yadav opted to hit the AB de Villiers as Delhi boy Virat Kohli, the Indian captain, knows in this severe cold Delhi morning how much pain AB de Villiers have to suffer.
Yadav’s one of the deliveries pressed De Villiers finger. In pain, the South African batsman threw his bat in the air. However, after receiving a treatment de Villiers continues his fight.
