BCCI, the richest cricket board across the globe, has made a genuine attempt in order to help cricket boards in need. The BCCI today announced that it would be helping Afghanistan cricket, by allowing them to use Indian infrastructure. In a MOU signed by the two boards, it was revealed that the BCCI would be giving an Indian ground to Afghanistan, so that the Afghans could use it as their “home” ground meant for training and developing.
Anurag Thakur, Secretary of the BCCI revealed the exclusive news on Twitter. “Delighted to share that Afghanistan Crickets home ground will be in India, to train & play matches,” Thakur tweeted. Such a warm gesture from the BCCI is bound to improve the relations between the two Asian nations.
Afghanistan currently is termed as an extremely positive side, with full of talented resources. The Afghans recently, created history as they defeated Zimbabwe in their own backyard. The current infrastructure for the game in Afghanistan isn’t too great, as the ongoing war has ravaged the facilities there.
The presence of a home ground in India would mean that Afghanistan could probably get more international matches. More than anything else, the talent for Afghan cricket will be groomed in a better manner.
