In the light of an exit from Europe’s most prestigious club competition, Manchester United players have cancelled their Christmas celebrations.

The defeat against Wolfsburg marks the fourth successive defeat for Van Gaal’s boys and does not bode well for the future of the Dutchman. According to reports from England, the players mutually agreed to do away with their team Christmas celebrations as they felt uncomfortable celebrating when their form has been so poor. It was a decision taken by the players and the boss wasn’t in the loop about any action whatsoever which hints at the exasperation that the players are facing at the hands of Van Gaal’s tactics.

With such a mindset the team is set to travel to Dean Court on Saturday for their away clash against Bournemouth who on the other hand is surfing on a winning tide having defeated Chelsea in their own backyard. Another impediment for Van Gaal in taking the team back to winning ways are the injury woes.

Most of his players are warming the bench with Darmian and Smalling added to the list of injured players which includes the likes of Rooney, Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw and Phil Jones. The Dutch boss is left without any experienced players in his squad with Schweinsteiger also ruled out after he picked up a ban for a violent tackle against Winston Reid of West Ham.

With United’s poor display of football and Van Gaal’s boring tactics, the future of the Dutchman seems to be under attack as reports have been flowing in about possible replacements and none other than Pep Guardiola leads the attack.

Though Van Gaal has until 2017 till his contract expire, but the players patience seems to be running out as they has claimed that football is no longer fun at the Theatre of Dreams. So will we see the Spaniard wielding the baton at Old Trafford next year or will a certain Dutchman continue with his meeting football then meeting philosophy? January will answer all these questions!
