K Srikanth lost his last Group B match to Chou Tien in straight sets at the BWF Super Series finals played at Dubai just a few moments ago. It was a disappointing tournament for Srikanth who was not able to win a single game in the three games.

In the first game, Chou Tien began off to a positive start taking a 3-0 lead. Srikanth made a lot of mistakes at the net. Chou played some excellent smashes and did not allow Srikanth to come back into the match. Chou always maintained a 2 points lead. At the interval Chou leads 11-8. After the interval, Chou displayed great aggression and again maintained 2 point lead. Chou won the first set 21-17.

In the second game, Chou again began well taking a 3-0 lead. Srikanth came back strongly to take 3 successive points to level the score at 3-3. Srikanth then took the lead at 4-3, but Chou came back to level the score at 4-4. It was an excellent display by Chou who again played some excellent smashes. At the interval, Chou led 11-9. After the interval, Srikanth took 2 successive points to equal the score at 11-11. Chou maintained pressure on Srikanth and never allowed the Indian player to play his natural game. Chou won the second set 21-13.

Srikanth had a disappointing tournament losing all matches in straight games. Srikanth looked fatigued after playing 5 tournaments in 5 weeks. Now all hopes would rest on Saina Nehwal who needs to win her match against Tzi Tzu Ying.
