Virat Kohli might have 60 plus international hundreds in cricket; might have scored 10,000 runs and more in ODIs, but a few of his on-field antics have raised questions over his behaviour. In the recent past, veteran Bollywood actor, Naseeruddin Shah termed Virat as the ‘worst-behaved player in cricket’. Meanwhile, during the second Test in Perth, Virat and Tim Paine came up and close on a few occasions. Their conduct on the field drew a lot of attention and flak at the same time. Moreover, Paine and Kohli dismissed reports leading to a potential verbal brawl between the two.
On his Facebook post, Shah wrote –
“Virat K is not only the world’s best batsman but also the world’s worst-behaved player. His cricketing brilliance pales beside his arrogance and bad manners. And I have no intention of leaving the country by the way,” Shah wrote in a Facebook post.

Shah wants Kohli to learn from his predecessors
Naseeruddin Shah, of late, was in the news for his comments on the India skipper. Though Kohli is yet to respond to the criticism, Shah has further spoken on the matter. Talking to India Today, Shah made his intentions clear of not taking his words back.
Backing everything he had posted, Naseeruddin Shah said Virat as a batsman is par-excellence, but his on-field antics don’t reflect dignity. He further mentioned Virat should behave properly like his predecessors.
“I admire his cricket but he should think of his on-field behaviour. People can lip-read in slow motion. He should behave with dignity like his predecessors,” Naseeruddin Shah mentioned.

Alongside Shah, cricketer-turned-commentator Sanjay Manjrekar also bashed Kohli for his ‘loud’ conduct. He said, had the India captain not been hitting that many runs in cricket, some of his on-field antics would have created some stir.
“Virat Kohli is such a champion player that we kind of accept everything he does on the pitch. Had Virat Kohli not been the champion player he is, some of his antics on the field would have created quite a stir,”
Meanwhile, Virat is currently leading India in the boxing day Test against Australia at the MCG.
