Watch: Ajinkya Rahane Takes Stunning Diving Catch To Send Back Marnus Labuschagne 1

Recalled Australia opener Marnus Labuschagne was looking solid with the bat right from the time he came to crease. The right-hander had played close to 100 balls and was showing no signs of weakness, dealing with both the pacers as well as spinners quite comfortably. India needed something special to get rid of him and the moment of brilliance was provided by Ajinkya Rahane. The India vice-captain took an absolute stunner to end Labuschagne’s gritty knock.

Labuschange must have thought he had hit Mohammed Shami for a four when he timed his flick beautifully. However, his failure to keep the ball grounded cost him dear as it was more than enough for Ajinkya Rahane to dive full length and give India a breakthrough from nowhere. The ball had gone to the right of short mid-wicket where Ajinkya Rahane dived and completed a fine catch to leave the Australia batsman flabbergasted. A dejected Labuschagne could not do much but to walk off the field as he shook his head in disbelief.

Here is a clip of that stunner:

India, meanwhile, have taken a firm grip on the fourth Test in Sydney. After piling up a mammoth 642 for 7 in the first innings, the visitors have taken wickets at regular intervals.  Labuschagne was the fourth Australian wicket to fall with the scoreboard reading just 152.

India are leading the series 2-1. A draw in the ongoing game will be enough for them to seal their first-ever Test series win Down Under.
