Anyways, he has always been a keen observer of the game. The latest post on Twitter from broadcasting giant Fox Cricket asked to pick the best among legendary Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli. And believe me, it’s some competition to think twice before picking your best.
Interestingly, the former Aussie top-order batsman Lehmann is impressed by the way concurrent Indian National Cricket Team skipper Kohli has bagged results.
The batting star Kohli is closing in on Tendulkar’s milestones after smashing 39th hundred of his One-day International career against Australia at Adelaide. So far, he has played 218 ODIs to amass 10,339 runs averaging a staggering 59.76.
“Go on, pick one: Sachin Tendulkar or Virat Kohli? The debate may soon be that little bit easier to settle,” Fox Cricket asked its worldwide readers.
On the other side, veteran Tendulkar is among the most distinguished cricketers of all-time. He bagged numerous records to his name during his 24-year-long international stint.
Predominantly, Tendulkar is the leading run-getter in Test and ODI format.
However, Kohli’s concentration has been mindboggling even for ace cricketers across the cricketing globe.
Owing to the burgeoning success, Kohli has become an icon across formats, and he earned the reputation by exhibiting his skills and run-scoring spree on a regular basis.
The former top-order batsman Tendulkar, who represented India in 463 ODIs amassed 18426 runs at the average of 44.83. He further smashed 49 tons and 96 half-centuries in the day-long format.
With both stalwarts setting an example of being arguably the best in business, it’s the principles that set them apart. But Lehmann settled with his viewpoint.
The left-handed batsman Lehmann represented Australia between 1996 and 2005. He featured in 117 ODIs to registered 3078 runs at the average of 38.46. He recorded four hundreds and 17 fifties.
Moreover, he featured in 27 Tests to amass 1798 runs at the average of 44.95. Lehmann smashed five tons and 10 half-centuries while donning the whites for the Kangaroos.
