The International Cricket Council (ICC) have suspended Indian National Cricket team all-rounder Ambati Rayudu from bowling in international cricket due to suspected bowling action.
Meanwhile, Rayudu’sbowling came under the scanner on January 13 for a suspect action during the first one-day international of their series against Australia in Sydney. Since then, he has not bowled in any international games for India. Moreover, he is not a regular bowler and operates only per time when the skipper runs out of options.
ICC urged Ambati Rayudu to appear for a test of his bowling action within the stipulated period of 14 days from being reported. However, Rayudu has elected not to appear for the test thus violating the rules of the apex body. As a result, ICC have decided to suspend the Indian cricketer with immediate effect in accordance with clause 4.2 of the ICC regulations.

The suspension, however, will remain in place until he appears for a test to get a clean chit. But according to Article 11.5 of the Regulations and with the consent of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Rayudu can bowl in domestic cricket events played under the auspices of the BCCI.
Ambati Rayudu is currently with the Indian National Cricket team taking part in the ODI series against New Zealand. He had a very lean patch with the bat in Australia despite India winning the series 2-1. Moreover, they registered their first-ever bilateral series win Down Under.
However, he has started getting his touch back in the series against the Balck Caps. After being unbeaten on 13 in Napier, Ambati Rayudu played a handy knock on 47 runs in the second ODI. The batsman from Hyderabad will have to score big in the last three games if he aims to cement his place for the ICC World Cup in England and Wales.
