Pakistan cricket board included Mohammad Aamir in the One-day International and T20 squad for the away series against New Zealand after a spot-fixing act in 2010. Shahid Afridi the T20 captain welcomed him with open arms saying he is happy with young pacer’s comeback in the limited over the squad.

“Happy to have Amir back in the team,” Afridi on Friday wrote on his twitter handle. “He told me truth first time I asked him in England. He admitted his mistake we should back him now.”

“We now need to move on and I will back Amir and expect him to serve Pakistan cricket with total dedication and commitment,” Afridi added.

Pakistan players Mohammad Hafeez and ODI Skipper even threatened to leave the team if Mohammad Aamir was selected in the team but Shahryar Khan interfered in the matter and reasoned with the players.

Afridi said that he respected Azhar and Hafeez’s stance. “We suffered a lot due to spot-fixing scandal and our image was tarnished everywhere,” he tweeted.

Aamir who served a five-year ban and jail for being involved in the spot-fixing case in 2010 during the tour of England was expected to make the squad and was brought into the national camp despite some hate by fellow players.

Here is Afridi’s post:
