The first day’s play between Australia and West Indies at Sydney was marred by poor weather as rain played spoilsport. Despite the rain delay, the game went on as the visitors won the toss and elected to bat on a flat Sydney wicket. Talented opener Kraigg Brathwaite continued his good run as he played beautifully to resist for the visitors. Darren Bravo looked solid before he was dismissed for 33 by Pattinson. Marlon Samuels once again disappointed as he was run out for 4.
Twitter reacted to the rain marred day, and below, are some of the tweets.
Last time Australia played 2 front line spinners in a Test match: at Dubai Oct 2014. Played Lyon & O’Keefe. And lost by 221 runs! #AusvWI

Clarke, being more insightful as a commentator in one sentence than Brayshaw has in his entire career. #AUSvWI

WOW, that’s a terrible throw from Josh but the ball may be a bit slippery #AUSvWI #PinkTest

O’Keefe is a spinner right? They look to be going pretty bloody straight to me…. #AUSvWI

The extra moisture after the rain might help Australian pacers. I guess the innings will turnaround in first 45 mins. #AUSvWI
