Jamie Vardy was rumored to be sidelined for nearly 2-4 weeks following his injury. This worried the club authorities as the striker was the hero of the attack at the club. The board wasted no time in finding a replacement for him. The team announced the signing of their new winger later today. Demarai Gray aged 17 of Birmingham became Leicester’s first signing of January. Although the fee is undisclosed it is understood an offer around £3.75m led to the 19-year-old leaving St Andrew’s.

Gray has joined the Foxes on a four-and-a-half-year contract. Speaking to the club, he says,’’It’s been my dream to play in the Premier League since I started playing football so I’m very happy to join the club. It’s a great club. The facilities are great and for a player like me it’s an ideal place for me to improve. Meeting all the staff here, it seems like a nice family place, so I think that’s perfect for me.’’

“You can see how well the team has been doing this year and I watch a lot of football so I can see that the way Leicester City play suits my style. I only hear good things about Leicester and I’m looking forward to starting.”

Leicester City has been the dream club for this 17 year old winger. Also, Leicester has formerly shown interest in the kid, too. In the summer, Leicester triggered a release clause in Gray’s contract but he decided to remain at Birmingham. It is believed that Gray will train with the squad for the first time on Tuesday. Reports indicate that Gray could be included in the Leicester squad for their FA Cup third-round tie against Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Sunday.
