15-year-old Mumbai cricketer Pranav Dhanawade broke the 117-year-old record of an English cricketer as he scored 1009*, which is the highest score in any form of cricket. Pranav has broken the previous world record of 652 on the first day of the match against Arya Gurukul, hosted by Mumbai Cricket Association. On the second innings, Pranav reached 921 runs just before the lunch. He completed his 1000 run mark off 323 balls after the lunch.
Former Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and current Indian limited over captain MS Dhoni congratulated the boy. “It is not a joke. It is serious business. It is a tremendous effort to score 1009 runs in an innings. The talent he has needs to be nurtured in the right direction. His parents and coach need to guide him well as this talent needs to go a long way,” MS Dhoni said while addressing the press conference before leaving for Australia for a five-match ODI and three-match T20 series.
Meanwhile Sachin tweet, “Congrats Pranav Dhanawade on being the first ever to score 1000 runs in an innings. Well done and work hard. You need to scale new peaks.”

1) Pranav hits 1009 is the highest score in any form of a cricket match. But, the actual score is 1030.
2) He hit 59 sixes and 129 boundaries which is the highest by an individual cricketer in any form of cricket.
3) His 1009 runs came in 323 balls. He is the first ever cricketer to score septuple hundred, an octuplet century, a nonuple century and finally a decuple century.
4) The second best score in the match was 173, scored by Ajit Singh.
5) He broke the 117-year-old record. England batsman Arthur Collins has scored 628 in four days at Bristol in 1899
6) Collis was born in Hazaribag, Jharkhand. His father was a judge there.
7) He was killed in a bomb blast in the First World War in 1914 at the age of 29 in the First Battle of Ypres in Belgium while serving as a captain with the 5th Field Company, Royals Engineers.
