Arsenal welcomed Sam Allardyce’s Sunderland side at the Emirates on Satuday, as the two teams faced off in the third round of the FA Cup with both sides looking a win on the night. The Gunners were hoping to secure qualification to the next round in the cup competition that they had won in the last couple of years consecutively and were keen on completing a successful title defence this time around as well. Despite that, Arsene Wenger’s side did not start the game off too well at home, as they were the first to concede a goal when Laurent Koscielny made a big defensive error, giving Jeremain Lens the chance to score. The attacker took his chance well and give his side the lead on the 17th minute of the game.
However, the lead only lasted for 8 minutes, as Joel Campbell equalized on the 25th minute. Both sides went into the half-time break with the score level at 1-1, though the home side had the better chances in the match but failed to really capitalize on them.
After the restart the north London side continued to dominate the game and a couple of substitutions did the trick for the French manager. Aaron Ramsey was brought into the game and he scored on the 72nd minute, with Hector Bellerin claiming an assist. Three minutes later, the Spaniard fed in a superb ball once again for Olivier Giroud to add a third goal for his side and the game eventually ended 3-1, as Arsenal went through to the fourth round.

Theo Walcott is stepping up and Ozil providing the goods. Even a heavily criticized Giroud is doing well. The signs are all there #COYG
