In the midst of a very busy schedule, Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp will face Arsenal and Manchester United in back to back Premier League games in a week that can surely define Liverpool’s season.
Liverpool will not be too enthusiastic with the games in hand because of the number of injuries that the squad has had to deal with in recent time.
As many as 11 first team players are out injured for Liverpool at the moment with the clash against Arsenal just two nights away. Jordan Henderson, Martin Skrtel, Mamadu Sakho, Dejan Lovren, Kolo Toure, Jordan Ibe, Joe Gomez, Danny Ings, Daniel Sturridge, Phillipe Coutinho, Divock Origi and Jon Flannagan are all out injured leaving the manager a bit short of options.
However, Arsenal manage Arsene Wenger talking to the press said nothing gets Liverpool players off the treatment table like a game against the Gunners.
Arsenal will face Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday and Wenger felt that Liverpool will surely have a better team than the one that faced Exeter City in the FA Cup.
Arsene Wenger said: “Don’t worry, Arsene is a very good doctor. They always heal when they play against us.
Wenger who left 5 first team players for his team’s win against Sunderland in the FA Cup was convinced that his approach was better than Klopp’s who played a young side that clawed a 2-2 draw and a replay.
Wenger added, “It’s easier to keep everybody on board because you have always the next competition, and everybody thinks ‘I have a chance to play’.
“You find you have a rhythm. You try to check who needs a breather, who needs a rest and you do it but you’re here to keep the squad focused and motivated when you have that many games.”
Arsenal can open a big gap at the top of the table if they are able to get all three points from this game at Anfield.
