In the ongoing fourth and penultimate One-day International (ODI) of India vs Australia 2019 series on Sunday (March 10), Team India star openers Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan have achieved the latest feat and this time as a batting pair to pummel Aussie bowlers. With this, the duo has surpassed Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag to become second most successful pair in terms of runs accumulated as a pair for India in the ODIs.

As of now, Rohit-Dhawan shared 4389 runs.
Earlier, Indian skipper Virat Kohli won the toss and decided to bat first on a surface which looks pretty solid for the batsmen.
During the ongoing ODI at Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) Stadium in Mohali, Dhawan and Rohit forged a 193-run partnership in 31 overs.
In the recent past, the duo has struggled to put runs on the board in the ongoing limited-overs series.
Meanwhile, legendary Tendulkar tops the chart alongside Sourav Ganguly. Besides, the duo has shared 8227 ODI runs in a partnership while donning the coloured jersey in the 50-over format. They’ve had played a significant role for India in the heydays by notching up staggering partnerships.
By joining Tendulkar and Ganguly in the elite list of batsmen, Rohit falls short of five runs to register his 23rd ODI hundred. In this process, he played the ball straight into the hands of Peter Handscomb at the deep square leg.
Rohit faced 92-balls for his 95 runs with the help of seven fours and two sixes.

On the other side, Dhawan played sizzling innings while slamming his 16th ODI hundred in his 127th ODI. He brought is individual-best in ODIs with 143 off 115 balls. Also, he struck 18 fours and three sixes before being cleaned up by Pat Cummins in 38th over of India’s innings.
To further talk about the list, Tendulkar alongside Sehwag has registered 4387 runs as they’re followed by Rahul Dravid and Ganguly with 4332 runs.
Skipper Kohli alongside his deputy Rohit has amassed 4328 runs in ODIs as a pair.
